Arrest Made for Threats

On August 5, 2019, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office received intelligence from the Statewide Terrorism Analysis Crime Center in regards to threats made against the Department of Job and Family Services. The Sheriff’s Office responded along with the Akron Police Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The Sheriff’s Detective Bureau identified the suspect as James L. Carroll, age 28 of Barberton. Sheriff’s Detectives located Carroll at his residence and arrested him without incident. He was charged with Aggravated Menacing and transported to the Summit County Jail.
