Local Students Art Project/Fundraiser for Humane Society (VIDEO)

By Julie D’Aloiso

Kids and animals have a special bond. Liliana Hensley, Avrey Palinkas and Morgan Root (not pictured) were part of a group of students in Mr. Dulins’s fourth grade class at Ledgeview Elementary that participated in a fundraiser for the humane society.

They created animal art sculptures, sold them and raised $160 for the Humane Society. Then the fun really started!

They were able to shop for specific items for the animal shelter (see the Summit County Humane Societies Wish List here) and deliver the items in person to Director of Development Louise DiLullo. Moms Kristi Carnevale Hensley and Debbie Palinkas assisted.

Louise DiLullo then presented them with certificates for their effort and took them on a tour of the facility.

During the tour, the students (and the moms) learned that the shelter has a thrift store and is looking for household items. These items can be brought to the Humane Society of Summit County’s Twinsburg location (7996 Darrow Road). For more information on this and other ways to help click here.

Here are two of the student talking about the project.
