Breaking News! Northfield Village Citizens Bank Robbery Suspect Murdered

From Police Chief Mark Wentz

The investigation of the bank robbery at the Citizens Bank on August 15, 2016 has concluded. Det. Sgt. Ed Carlile and Det. Matt Grams did an outstanding job and worked tirelessly over several weeks with the East Cleveland Police Department and the FBI. Tragically, our main robbery suspect, a 17 year old female was found murdered in East Cleveland just days after the robbery. Two accomplices in the bank robbery have been arrested and charged with her murder. Additionally, three juveniles have been arrested in connection with the case. They allegedly supplied the stolen car used to pick up the victim days after the bank robbery and drive her to the spot in East Cleveland where she was then shot multiple times and killed by one of the bank robbery accomplices. All of the subjects involved are alleged members of, or have an affiliation with, the Black Disciples, a local East Cleveland gang. The case will be presented to the Cuyahoga County Grand Jury by the East Cleveland Police Department for indictment. Our bank robbery charges will be included with their homicide. De. Sgt. Carlile and Det. Grams are commended for their exceptional work on this case.
