Burger King is “Hot to Trot” to Move into Macedonia, Swensons’ Talks and More

Hold the Pickle, Hold the Lettuce, you may have it your way in Macedonia. Burger King is “Hot to trot” to take the place of Pizza Hut on Rt 82, according to Nino Monaco the Building Commissioner for the City of Macedonia. It is not a done deal so you will have to stay tuned to see what happens. If you recall, Pizza Hut is moving down the street to the plaza across from Speedway. They are changing to a delivery/carry out location.  It will take the spot right next to Pulp (see past article here).

He also mentioned that it is not up to the building department which business goes into any location in town. If they have the plans approved and everything that according to code, they have to let them come in.

And speaking of burgers, Swenson’s is in talks with the Steak and Shake people. There is currently a three year lease still in effect for that location. Swenson’s would need to buy out the lease to take over in that spot.

The Aladdin’s and Five Guys are still coming to town in between Cinemark and Home Depot but no plans have been approved.

Soon you will see some activity at Rt 8 and Highland Road where the BP used to be located. They will soon be removing the canopy, pumps and gas tanks. The tanks are around 30 years old and must be removed even if a new gas station decides to take that spot.

Orange Theory Fitness is coming to the same plaza where Pizza Hut is moving to. They are planning to open in September of this year. Look for info soon from us about an event they are hosting in July. The spot used to be occupied by Papa John’s.
