Fall Play Takes a Different Turn This Year

By Julie D’Aloiso

To quote Monty Python: “And now for something completely different…”

Instead of  the usual fall murder mystery at Nordonia High School, they are switching to a romantic comedy: Almost, Maine by John Cariani. Four couples 13 cast members in 19 roles with some being dual roles.

The story: On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.

Directed by Nordonia’s Director of Drama, Chris Simmons. Assisting with this year’s show are Hannah Beck and Sam Fujikawa, two students who serve as Assistant Directors on the production.

This year’s cast is comprised of: Missie Bleich, Jamie Brasdovich, Nicky Dietzen, Hannah Ford, Sam Fujikawa, Emily Greenwood, Alex Posar, Dakota Pugh, Dominic Shamblin, Madi Slayton, Kaeli Stephens, Nolan Tater, and Kayleigh Wisniewski.
