Northfield Park, Ohio, August 10, 2017 – The Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park was recently acknowledged for its generous monetary donation to the Foundation for the Ohio Guard and Reserve which is a public, non-profit, tax-exempt, charitable 501(c)(3) organization. The Foundation raises funds to provide financial support for Ohio Guard and Reserve employer relations and family support programs, and its primary goal is to serve Ohio National Guard and Reserve Units, their employers, and their families.
In 2016, The Rocksino hosted a variety of events during its “Veterans Day Week of Honor” to salute our country’s military men and women. As a result of their dedication and coordinated social media activity, the Rocksino graciously donated $5,000 to the Foundation for the Ohio Guard and Reserve.
The Rocksino has a strong commitment to actively recruit, retain and support Guard and Reserve members and Veterans throughout the entire organization. They have been acknowledged for their efforts in the past with an E.S.G.R. (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) “Patriot Award” as well as the “Seven Seals Award” and the “Above and Beyond Award.” These awards are given to distinguished employers who go above and beyond to support active military employees as well as Veterans in their work force.
The Rocksino requires all managers and supervisors to participate in mandatory leadership training and development programs, and military personnel share their proven leadership skills and techniques. The integration of military personnel into The Rocksino staff is highly valued.
Recently, President of the Foundation Governing Board, Robert “Lance” Meyer, Maj. Gen. USAF (Ret.), along with Chaker Fadel, Foundation Board member and Ohio ESGR Employer Outreach Coordinator, Jim Nelson, Ohio ESGR Employer Outreach, and Jayni Sech, Ohio ESGR Public Affairs Representative, were on hand at The Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park to present Mark Birtha, President, with a recognition award for The Rocksino’s donation.
A brief ceremony was held and General Meyer presented a bronze eagle sculpture to Birtha to thank him for his leadership and dedication to supporting our military men and women. Colonel Fadel gave a brief overview of all the activities executed by The Rocksino to support our military, including free meals on Veterans Day, donating turkeys to shelters for homeless veterans, and hosting a charity concert to benefit The Fisher House.
