Local ODOT Repairs as of August 26th

Here’s a list of new and ongoing repairs being made within the surrounding area.

New Repairs

State Route 8 in the Village of Boston Heights
(Monday, August 29 – Tuesday, August 30)
On Monday evening, August 29, beginning at 7 p.m., SR 8 northbound at Twinsburg Rd. will have various lane restrictions through Tuesday morning, August 30 at 6 a.m. for pavement repairs.  This work is part of a $780,000 project to make pavement repairs to various routes in Portage, Stark & Summit Counties. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late September 2016.

State Route 91 in the City of Twinsburg
(until further notice)
Glenwood Ave. on the west side of SR 91 is closed through mid-September for roadway and roundabout construction. The detour is SR 91 to OFC Joshua Miktarian Memorial Pkwy to Ravenna Rd.
(Monday, August 29 – until further notice)
Beginning Monday, August 29, Glenwood Ave. on the east side of SR 91 will be closed through mid-September for roundabout construction. The detour will be SR 91 to Post Rd. to Liberty Rd.

SR 91 between Post Rd. and Glenwood Dr. has various daily lane restrictions for drainage installation and widening of the southbound side of SR 91. This work is part of a $4.7 million project to widen and reconstruct SR 91 between Post Rd. and Glenwood Dr. The project also includes drainage repairs and the installation of a roundabout on SR 91 and Glenwood Dr. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by November 2016.

Interstate 271 in the City of Macedonia
(Tuesday, August 30 – Wednesday, August 31)
On Tuesday evening, August 30, beginning at 7 p.m., the I-271 northbound exit ramp to SR 8 will have various lane restrictions through Wednesday morning, August 31 at 6 a.m. for pavement repairs.  This work is part of a $780,000 project to make pavement repairs to various routes in Portage, Stark & Summit Counties. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by September 2016.

Ongoing Repairs

State Route 8 in the Cities of Cuyahoga Falls, Stow and Hudson
(until further notice)
SR 8 between Graham Rd. and SR 303 is reduced to two lanes in each direction for pavement repairs.

SR 8 between Graham Rd. and SR 303 is reduced to one lane in each direction nightly between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. for pavement repairs. This work is part of a $930,000 project to make various pavement repairs on SR 8 between Graham Rd. and SR 303. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late September 2016.

State Route 82 in the City of Macedonia
(until further notice)
Shephard Rd. on the north side of SR 82 is closed through early September for roadway reconstruction. The detour is SR 82 to N. Bedford Rd. to Ledge Rd.
(until further notice)
SR 82 between Alexandria Dr. and Longwood Park is reduced to one ten foot lane in each direction for roadway widening. This work is part of a $4.6 million project to resurface and widen SR 82 between Alexandria Drive and the Twinsburg Corporation limit. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by September 2016.

Interstate 271 in the City of Macedonia
(until further notice)
SR 82 between SR 8 and S. Bedford Rd. has various nightly lane restrictions for roadway widening.

I-271 between SR 8 and the Cuyahoga County line has various lane restrictions for roadway widening. The speed limit in this area is reduced to 50 mph during construction. This work is part of a $50.9 million project to reconstruct and widen I-271 between SR 8 and the Cuyahoga County line. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by October 2016.

Interstate 271 in Northfield Center Township
(until further notice)
I-271 southbound one mile south of SR 8 is reduced to two 10 foot lanes for a slope repair. This work is part of a $1.8 million project to repair the slope on the southbound side of I-271 just north of Brandywine Rd. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by mid-October 2016.

Interstate 271 in Richfield Village & Richfield Township
(until further notice)
The following ramps are closed through early September for pavement reconstruction:

The ramp from I-271 southbound to SR 303 is CLOSED. The detour is I-271 southbound to I-77 southbound to Wheatley Rd. to Brecksville Rd. to SR 303.
The ramp from SR 303 to I-271 southbound is CLOSED. The detour is SR 303 to Brecksville Rd. to I-271 southbound.

Motorists traveling on I-271 northbound from just north of the Medina County line to the Ohio Turnpike should be aware of a bi-directional traffic pattern. Although two lanes of traffic are maintained in each direction on I-271 southbound, traffic is now split, with one lane of southbound traffic crossed over onto I-271 northbound, while the second lane remains on I-271 southbound side. This work is part of a $46.4 million project to reconstruct the pavement along I-271 from Broadview Rd. to the Ohio Turnpike. Then entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

Interstate 271 in Boston Township
(until further notice)
I-271 northbound between I-80/Ohio Turnpike and Riverview Rd. has various nightly lane restrictions through early September for crack sealing operations. These restrictions will occur nightly between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. This work is part of a $1.6 million project to crack seal various routes through Ashtabula, Mahoning, Portage, Stark & Summit Counties. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by mid-October 2016.

State Route 303 in the Village of Boston Heights and Village of  Peninsula
(until further notice)
SR 303 from I-271 to just west of Olde 8 Rd. has various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing through early September. This work is part of $800,000 project to resurface SR 303 between I-271 and just west of Olde 8 Rd. The project also includes various bridge repairs to the SR 303 bridge over the Cuyahoga River. The entire project is schedule to be completed by early September 2016.

SR 303 just west of Olde 8 Rd. is reduced to one lane maintained by a traffic signal through early September for a bridge rehabilitation. During this time, traffic exiting the Metroparks Trailhead onto SR 303 and on Olde 8 Rd. at the intersection with SR 303 will NOT be permitted to make right turns. This work is part of a $1.2 million project to rehabilitate the SR 303 bridge over the Hike and Bike Trail, just west of Olde 8 Rd. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by early September 2016.
