Local ODOT Repairs as of August 4th – New Repairs Only

Here’s a list of the new repairs beginning within the surrounding area.

New Repairs

State Route 8 in the City of Cuyahoga Falls
(Friday, August 11 – Monday, August 14)
Beginning Friday, August 11, at 7 p.m., Bailey Rd. over SR 8 will be CLOSED through Monday morning, August 14, at 6 a.m. for bridge repairs. The detour is 3rd Street to Hudson Dr. to 2nd Street to Bailey Rd. The detour for westbound  Detour for WB Bailey Rd. to 2nd Street to Hudson Dr. to 3rd Street to Bailey Rd.
(Monday, August 14 – Friday, August 18)
Beginning Monday, August 14, at 10 a.m., the ramp from SR 8 northbound to Portage Trail will be closed through Friday, August 18, at 8 p.m. for bridge repairs. The detour will be SR 8 northbound to Broad Blvd. to Newberry St. to Portage Trail.

The pedestrian bridge just south of Graham Rd., over SR 8 is Now Open

SR 8 between Howe Ave. and Graham Rd. has various daily and nightly lane restrictions for milling and resurfacing. These restrictions will occur between 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. This work is part of a $4.6 million project to resurface SR 8 between Howe Rd. and Graham Rd., SR 303 from east of Chittenden Rd. to Olde 8 and on SR 261 from just west of SR 8 to N. Main St. The project also includes miscellaneous bridge repairs. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by October 2017.

Interstate 76 & Main Street in the City of Akron
(Wednesday, August 9 – Saturday, August 19)
Beginning Wednesday morning, August 9, E. Miller Ave., just east of Broadway Ave. will be closed through Saturday, August 19th for roadway construction. The detour will be Sweitzer St. to Steiner St. to Main St.

Thornton St. eastbound between Coburn St. and Wolf Ledges Parkway is reduced to one lane through late fall for roadway construction.

Thornton St. westbound between Main St. and Broadway St. is closed through late fall for roadway construction. The detour is Broadway St. to Exchange St. to High St. to Main St.

The following closures are in place for a bridge replacement:
Grant St. over I-76 is CLOSED through late October 2017. The detour is Crosier St. to Wolf Ledges Parkway to Thornton St. to Grant St.

    The ramp from Grant St. to I-76 eastbound/I-77 southbound is permanently closed. The detour is Grant St. to Exchange St. to Spicer St. to Carroll St. to SR 8 southbound to I-76 eastbound.
    The ramp from I-76 westbound/I-77 northbound to Grant St. is permanently closed. The detour is I-76 westbound to Broadway St. to Thornton St. to Grant St. or I-76 westbound to Broadway St. to Thornton St. to Main St. to Miller St. to Bellows St. to Crosier St. to Grant St.

I-76 eastbound and westbound between Grant St. and Wolf Ledges Parkway is reduced to one lane in each direction nightly through mid-October for bridge repairs. During this time, motorists traveling I-76 will be subject to 15 minute periods of stopped traffic. These restrictions will occur nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

W. South St., Bachtel Ave., and W. Crosier St. are closed at S. Main St. through late fall for roadway construction. The detour is Princeton St. to W. Miller Ave. to Main St.

E. Bartges St. between High St. and Broadway St. is closed through September 2017 for roadway construction. The detours are:

    Eastbound W. Bartges St.: Main St. to E. Exchange St.
    From S. Broadway St.: E. Exchange St. to S. Main St. to Bartges St.

Main St. and Broadway St. between Miller Rd. and Bartges St. has various lane restrictions for roadway construction. This work is part of an $84 million project to reconstruct I-76/Main St. and Broadway St. interchange in the City of Akron. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by July 2020.

Interstate 271 in Richfield Village & Richfield Township
(Friday, August 4 – Monday, August 7)
Beginning Friday, August 4, at 6 p.m., the ramp from I-77 northbound to I-271 northbound will be CLOSED through Monday morning, August 7 at 6 a.m., for resurfacing. The detour will be I-77 northbound to SR 82 eastbound to SR 8 southbound. This work is weather dependent.

I-271 from just north of the Medina County line to the Ohio Turnpike has various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing. This work is part of a $46.4 million project to reconstruct the pavement along I-271 from Broadview Rd. to the Ohio Turnpike. Then entire project is scheduled to be completed by late September 2017.
 
Interstate 271 in the City of Macedonia
(Monday, August 7 – until further notice)
Beginning Monday, August 7, I-271 southbound just north of SR 82 will have occasional nightly lane restrictions for the installation of a noise barrier. This work is the beginning of a $600,000 project to place a noise barrier on the west side of I-271 just north of SR 82. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late September 2017.
 
Interstate 271 in Richfield Township and the Village of Richfield
(Monday, August 14 – Wednesday, August 16)
Beginning Monday, August 14, Everett Rd. over I-271 will be closed through Wednesday, August 16 for bridge deck repairs. The detour will be Medina Line Rd. to Hawkins Rd. to State Rd.
(Thursday, August 17 – Saturday, August 19)
Beginning Thursday, August 17, Southern Rd. over I-271 will be closed through Saturday, August 19 for bridge deck repairs. The detour will be Everett Rd. to Medina Line Rd. to Hawkins Rd.
(Monday, August 21 – Thursday, August 24)
Beginning Monday, August 21, Medina Line Rd. over I-271 will be closed through Thursday, August 24 for bridge deck repairs. The detour will be Everett Rd. to Southern Rd. to Hawkins Rd.

I-271 between the Medina County line and Brecksville Rd. has various lane restrictions during non-peak hours for bridge painting. This work is part of a $1.9 million project to make bridge repairs to the Medina Line Rd., Southern Rd. and Everett Rd. bridges over I-271. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late September 2017.
