Police initiated a traffic stop southbound on I 271 and Route 8 split for a speeding violation. While sitting stationary, the police officer observed the vehicle traveling 86 mph in a posted 65 mph zone. After the driver showed the officer proof of insurance he stated: “Man I ain’t gonna have insurance after this.” The officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana and noticed in the cup holder a marijuana shake. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle.

As they were walking to the rear of the vehicle, the officer asked the suspect if there was anything else inside of the vehicle before we searched it to which he stated no. The officer asked him to quit reaching for his pocket as he was going to search his person. The suspect responded by saying, “I thought you were searching the car, why ya’ll searching me?”

Located in the suspect’s right jacket pocket was a clear plastic bag containing a rock-like substance. The suspect stated the substance was powder and he was about to snort some. The suspect later admitted the substance was cocaine. Total weight was 15 grams. Due to it being more than 10 grams but less than 20 grams, the charge is enhanced to a Felony of the third degree. The suspect was charged for speed (MM) and possession of marijuana (MM) and possession of a controlled substance (F-3).

2-14-19 BOLO for a silver colored Toyota with front end damage and a missing hubcap from the front driver’s tire.

A Macedonia police officer responded to a report of property damage on Melody Lane.

The officer spoke to the home owner who stated an unknown person had struck the retaining wall at the end of his driveway. There were tire marks on the side of the road that showed that it appeared someone was driving southbound on Melody Lane where the road curves to the east, and lost control of their vehicle. They crossed over the road and struck the retaining wall and drove off.

There was a damaged hubcap left on the scene along with a Toyota logo. There was also silver paint transfer left on one of the blocks that was pushed on the driveway. He stated that he spoke with his daughter, who lives there and she advised that when she got home around midnight the wall and driveway were fine. He also stated that he did not hear anything now was there any note left by the person who did this. The police officer advised dispatch and requested a BOLO (be on the lookout) be put out advising that we were looking for a silver colored Toyota with front end damage and a missing hubcap from the front driver’s tire.
