Macedonia, Sagamore and Northfield Center Consolidated Fire Department Report

From Macedonia Fire Chief Tim Black

Attached are the September numbers as well as our individual EMS collections. September 15th marks our one year anniversary as a consolidated Fire department. During this time we have been very busy! We responded to over 3500 calls to service, flushed over 3000 fire hydrants, and tested over 3 miles of hose. We have hired and trained 21 new employees to help us further our mission. As you can see our call numbers are up from previous years. I have worked on some averages from the first 9 months. Calls, collections, and mutual aid requests are below:

Calls
(Per Month Average)
Macedonia Sagamore Hills Northfield Center Total

EMS 114 92 42 248
Fire 24 11 9 44
Total 138 103 51 292

Mutual Aid
(Per Month Average, includes auto aid for fire and freeway crashes)

IN 4.2 OUT 6.4

(Per Month Average)

Macedonia Sagamore Hills Northfield Center Total
$ 27,594.18 $ 21,999.32 $ 14,136.38 $ 63,729.88

So based upon these average numbers per month for 2017. We can make assumptions for the year at:

Macedonia Sagamore Hills Northfield Center Total

EMS 1368 1104 504 2976
Fire 288 132 108 528
Total 1656 1236 612 3504

Mutual Aid
IN 50 OUT 77

TOTAL CALLS 3581

Collections
Macedonia Sagamore Hills Northfield Center Total
$ 331,130.16 $ 263,991.84 $ 169,636.56 $ 764,758.56

I hope this gives everyone a “Projected picture” of where will be at based upon 2017 averages for the first nine months of 2017. Collections do not take into account residuals from District 27 collection company, as I do not have those numbers, and does not include collection fees of 7% and FAIR monies at 10%. Mutual aid is under 1.5% , as well as being under what we provide out to other communities.
