MACEDONIA VETERANS PARK UPDATE

The Nordonia Hills American Legion Post 801 announces that the Macedonia Veterans Park Foundation has received a confirmation letter dated June 28, 2019 from the IRS granting their request for a 501(c)(3) charity designation for the Macedonia Veterans Park Foundation..

“This was  a major achievement, accomplished in record time, which now allows the Foundation to contact other charities that have the ability to provide grants of the size required to finish the park,” said Foundation member and Post 801 Commander Dave Pristash.  “We have major donors waiting for this designation so we expect that we will be receiving donations from them shortly.

The foundation is now the primary organization for the veterans to help the city continue to create this important park.

“We thank the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6768 Officers and members for all they have done to make this happen,” Pristash added. ” The Legion and the VFW will still be able to support the park project with the only change being the Legion with no longer be handling the funds. All donations from this point forward should be directed to the foundation.

The website www.NHVMP.com and all other related documents will now be modified to reflect this very important change in status. Going forward the website will be the primary source for information. The Legion and VFW members that are part of the Foundation will also provide relevant status and communications to their members as required.
