Safe Decisions Week at Nordonia High School
October 15 – 19

Macedonia, OH, Oct. 8, 2018 – Nordonia Schools are partnering with State Farm® Agent Jill Gaba and Ohio Sports Chiropractic & Rehab to bring Safe Decisions Week to the district. The inaugural week-long event will take place in all of the Nordonia Schools from elementary to the high school. All students will be learning about safe decisions and have an opportunity to sign a pledge banner. Safe Decisions Week culminates Friday, Oct. 19at 5 p.m. The community is invited to a free Nordonia Safe Tailgate and Community Resource Fair prior to the “BLACK-OUT for Safety” football game against North Royalton.

Monday – 10/15 from 9:55 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Students can drive the Simulated Impaired Driving Experience Car, play an Impaired Maze Game, and try the Virtual Reality Driving experience in the main gymnasium.

Tuesday – 10/16 from 9:55 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Students can drive a Roadster vehicle while wearing fatal vision goggles, play a Distracted Driving Simulator game, and try the Virtual Reality Driving Experience in the main gymnasium.

Wednesday – 10/17 at 8:00 a.m.
Impact Teen Driver will present “What Do You Consider Lethal?” in the high school auditorium. Students can sign a pledge banner in the cafeteria during lunch.

Friday – 10/19
1:30 p.m. – BLACK-OUT for safety Pep Rally– new football uniforms will be unveiled at the pep rally in the gymnasium.
5:00 p.m. – NordoniaSafe Tailgate and Community Resource Fair (FREE and open to the public)
7:00 p.m. – Wear Safe Decision Week black-out gear to the football game as the Knights host N. Royalton.

Students from the Nordonia Youth 2 Youth program are helping with the event and proceeds from t-shirt sales will fund their annual retreat. There will be prize giveaways all week long.
