Nordonia Girls Softball 4-23-18 Early Lead For Stow-Munroe Falls Seals Fate For Nordonia Knights Varsity (photo gallery)

Game Changer:
Nordonia Knights Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 6-1 loss to Stow-Munroe Falls on Monday. Stow-Munroe Falls scored on a sacrifice fly by Holcomb in the first inning and a double by O’Verko in the second inning.

Nordonia Knights Varsity knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning, when Lexi Maciejowski singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Stow-Munroe Falls pulled away for good with one run in the second inning. In the second O’Verko doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Kelly led things off on the hill for Stow-Munroe Falls. She went seven innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out one.
Rachel Cornett was on the mound for Nordonia Knights Varsity. She lasted seven innings, allowing 11 hits and six runs while striking out four.
Nordonia Knights Varsity had five hits in the game. Maciejowski and Kendall Becker all collected multiple hits for Nordonia Knights Varsity. Becker and Maciejowski each managed two hits to lead Nordonia Knights Varsity.

Stow-Munroe Falls tallied 11 hits on the day. Arlequeeuw, Edmundson, O’Verko, and Ingram each racked up multiple hits for Stow-Munroe Falls.
