Monday Casual Reads
Join us the second Monday of each month for reader-to-reader book discussions, fun, and sharing with fellow light reading lovers. We will discuss Quentins by Maeve Binchy on Monday, August 13 at 2 p.m.
Join our program for families of all ages! One Monday a month at 6:30 p.m., we’ll get together for some great crafts. On Monday, August 13 – Come in and make a glow in the dark moon mobile.

Paws for Reading

Writers’ Guild of Nordonia Hills
Writers wanted! New writers and old hands welcome: fiction, nonfiction, and everything in between. Have your work critiqued and give feedback to others in a fun and friendly environment. Please bring a sample of your work to share. Light snacks provided. Meets the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, August 15.

Nordonia Hills Game Time
Join our regular gaming “meet-up” each month for patrons who enjoy board games, cards, chess, role-playing, war games, and collectible card games. The next meet-up will be on Saturday, August 18, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Join fellow local players – Sharpen your intellect – Enjoy the social aspects of games. Refreshments served. Messy Monday is one Monday a month. We will do blow dart painting on Monday, August 20 at 6 p.m.
Wellness Yoga: Yoga Off the Mat
Learn soothing stretches that you can incorporate into your daily life in this gentle yoga series with Diane Bielecki, who graduated from the Cleveland Clinic School of Yoga. No mat is needed – stretches are done standing or in a chair. Please dress in comfortable clothing and arrive 5-10 minutes early so that class may begin on time. This class is limited to twenty participants, and registration is strongly suggested. Tuesdays, August 21, 28, 6:30 p.m.

Friends of the Library Book Sale
The Friends of Nordonia Hills Branch Library will hold their Autumn Book Sale Friday, September 7, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. AND Saturday, September 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A $4.00 bag sale begins at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The preview sale for Friends members is Friday, September 7, from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Memberships starting at $5.00 may be purchased at the door. You must be a member to attend.
The library is now accepting donations of gently used hardback and paperback books, video and audio recordings, puzzles, and board games. No magazines, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books, textbooks, or encyclopedias are accepted.
Interested in candid, thought-provoking conversation? Join your fellow patrons at the Socrates Café, an informal adult discussion that takes place each month here at the library. The Cafe opens on Wednesday, September 12 at 6:30 p.m. 16 & over, please.
Teens Do Something
This is a great way for students in 5th through 12th grades to volunteer. We will meet one Saturday a month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to do a different type of project. Please contact us for more details. Saturday, September 15.
