Summer Food Drive
In partnership with The Emergency Assistance Center of Northfield, the Library is hosting a summer food drive for the month of July. Canned and boxed foods (non-expired) are requested. Drop off donations in the Library lobby. July 2 – 31.

Monday Casual Reads
Join us the second Monday of each month for reader-to-reader book discussions, fun, and sharing with fellow light reading lovers. We will discuss The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper by Phaedra Patrick on Monday, July 9 at 2 p.m.

Teens Do Something
This is a great way for students going into 5th through 12th grades to volunteer. We will meet every other Monday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. to do a different type of project. Some of the projects we will work on: making busy bags for Akron Children’s Hospital, cards for shut-ins, and jobs around the library. Please contact us for more details. July 9, July 23, August 6.

Stitch Clique
Grab your crocheting/knitting needles and yarn and stitch the evening away. Join us the second Tuesday of each month for crocheting/knitting tips, friendship, advice and more. Refreshments will be served. Tuesday, July 10, 6-8 p.m.

Paws for Reading
Read a book to Edmund, a certified therapy dog. Bring a book or read one of ours! This is a great way for children to practice their literacy skills and gain more confidence in reading aloud. Children of all ages are welcome. Tuesday, July 10, 6:30 p.m.

Wellness Yoga: Yoga Off the Mat
Learn soothing stretches that you can incorporate into your daily life in this gentle yoga series with Diane Bielecki, who graduated from the Cleveland Clinic School of Yoga. No mat is needed – stretches are done standing or in a chair. Please dress in comfortable clothing and arrive 5-10 minutes early so that class may begin on time. This class is limited to twenty participants, and registration is strongly suggested. Tuesdays, July 10, 24; August 21, 28, 6:30 p.m.

Cookies and Conversation
The second Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m., meet to talk about what’s going on your life, school, town or the world. We’ll discuss philosophy, current events or whatever is on the group’s mind. And remember we have cookies! Wednesday, July 11 at 3:30 p.m.

Socrates Café
Interested in candid, thought-provoking conversation? Join your fellow patrons at the Socrates Café, an informal adult discussion that takes place each month here at the library. The Cafe opens on Wednesday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m. 16 & over, please.

Messy Monday is one Monday a month. We will do bubble wrap stomp painting on Monday, July 16 at 6 p.m.

Couponing 101
Join couponing expert and blogger, Rachel Krych, as she presents Couponing 101. This fun and interactive class is great for beginners as well as those who have been couponing for a few years. This class covers many different topics such as: where to get coupons, how to organize them, where & how to stack coupons, and how to save money at local stores. Wednesday, July 18, 6 p.m.

Writers’ Guild of Nordonia Hills
Writers wanted! New writers and old hands welcome: fiction, nonfiction, and everything in between. Have your work critiqued and give feedback to others in a fun and friendly environment. Yoga for Kids

Join our regular gaming “meet-up” each month for patrons who enjoy board games, cards, chess, role-playing, war games, and collectible card games. Shopping at Stores (Couponing Pt. 2)
Dive into the world of coupons! During this class, blogger, Rachel Krych, dives deeper into the world of couponing. She’ll share tips on how to maximize your savings at specific stores as well as how to use money saving apps. Taking the first class, Couponing 101, is recommended but not mandatory.
