Monthly Challenges
For Grades K-5 – Monthly challenges will be located in children’s area. Complete the challenge for a chance to win a small prize. For the March project, shape your own leprechaun pot o’ gold!

Story Times
Baby Time
Thursdays, 10:15 am, March 9-April 13
For children 24 months and under with a parent or caregiver. Our programs feature bounces, songs, and stories.

Toddler Story Time
Thursdays, 11:15 am, March 9-April 13
For children 2-3 years old, with two-year-olds accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Short stories, rhymes, and more!

Preschool Story Time
Thursday, 12:30 pm, March 9-April 13
For children 3-5 years old, not yet in Kindergarten. Stories, rhymes, and more!

Tai-Chi: Moving for Better Balance
Kim Mozzochi with the Area Agency on Aging conducts this FREE exercise series, geared toward older adults wanting to improve strength, flexibility and muscle tone. The sessions meet twice per week for a 12-week period. Registration is strongly encouraged, as space is limited. This series may be cancelled due to low attendance. Mondays and Tuesdays, March 6 – May 23, 10:30 a.m.

Beginning Beekeeping
For the aspiring beekeeper: find out what the beginning beekeeper needs to know in their first year! Learn about your local ordinances, where to place the beehive, how to install a package of bees, how to feed your bees and how to conduct a hive inspection. Wednesday, March 15, 6 p.m.

Writers’ Guild of Nordonia Hills
Writers wanted! New writers and old hands welcome: fiction, nonfiction, and everything in between. Have your work critiqued and give feedback to others in a fun and friendly environment. Please bring a sample of your work to share. Light snacks provided. Meets the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, March 15.

Great Lakes Theater Play
We welcome the acclaimed theater troupe back to Nordonia Hills for a seventeenth year as they present an original world premiere play. THE JABBERWOCKY is based on the classic poem by Lewis Carroll. The performance is approximately 50 minutes long. A talk-back with the company will follow. No registration needed; seats are first-come, first-seated. Thursday, March 16, at 6 p.m.

Nordonia Hills Game Time
The library hosts a regular “meet-up” each month for patrons who enjoy board games, cards, chess, role-playing, war games, and collectible card games. The next meet-up is Saturday, March 18 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Join fellow local players – Sharpen your intellect – Enjoy the social aspects of games. Refreshments are served. No registration is necessary.

Family Night
Join our program for families of all ages! One Monday a month at 6:30 p.m. we’ll get together for some great crafts. Monday, March 20 – Join Miss Sue and make Bulgarian Martenitsa Dolls.

Mini Teen Makerspace
For students in grade 5 and up. One Tuesday a month at 4 p.m. we will get together and create with a different medium. On Tuesday, March 21, make something with sand paper.

After School Club
For children in K-4th grade. Wednesday, March 22, 4 p.m. – we will make a sock bunny!

Wellness Yoga: Yoga Off the Mat
Learn soothing stretches that you can incorporate into your daily life in this gentle yoga series with Diane Bielecki, who graduated from the Cleveland Clinic School of Yoga. No mat is needed – stretches are done standing or in a chair. Please dress in comfortable clothing and arrive 5-10 minutes early so that class may begin on time. This class is limited to twenty participants, and registration is strongly suggested. Wednesdays, March 22, 29, and April 5, 6:30 p.m.

Mystery Book Discussion
The Mystery Book Lovers discussion group is an informal group of adult mystery readers. Our next discussion will be “Reader’s Choice” of a Georgette Heyer mystery on Wednesday, March 22 at 7 p.m.

“Tales For a Spring Evening”
Stories especially designed “not just for children.” Some tales will make you think, some will make you laugh, some will make you wonder, but all of them have hidden wisdom for you to discover. Storytellers from the Western Reserve Association for the Preservation and Perpetuation of Storytelling present an adult story concert. Thursday, March 23, 7 p.m. Registration suggested.

Get Creative with Virtual Reality & Videogames!
The world is your canvas with virtual reality! With Google Tilt Brush on the HTC Vive, paint in 3D space as you experience the future of digital art. Play other creative digital experiences while you wait: build in Minecraft, make your own Super Mario levels, and play the original Nintendo’s sound chip. No registration necessary. Saturday, March 25, 1-4 p.m.

Adult Coloring Night
Bring your own coloring book or choose from provided coloring pages and spend the evening relaxing and coloring with new friends. Tuesday, March 28, 6 p.m.

Crafters’ Corner
Join your fellow craft enthusiasts for daylong fun. Bring your own supplies. All crafts welcome. Lots of table space to spread out. Refreshments served. Come for an hour or the entire day. Saturday, April 1, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cooking Club
An interactive group for discussing all things cooking, comparing recipes, and trying new eats. First Tuesday of each month. Tuesday, April 4, 6 p.m.

Night Out Nordonia: Learn Party Games with The Malted Meeple.
Game experts from The Malted Meeple teach some fun board games perfect for your next adult party or get-together. From new offerings to edgier fare, meet some new friends, play some great games, and enjoy a social evening out. Tuesday, April 4, 7-10 p.m.

Monday Casual Reads
Join us the second Monday of each month for reader-to-reader book discussions, fun, and sharing with fellow light reading lovers. We will discuss A Man Called Ove, by Fredrik Backman, on Monday, April 10 at 2 p.m.

Messy Mondays
Join us for messy fun! Don’t forget to wear some old clothes, you may get messy. On Monday, April 10 at 6 p.m. we will have painting for kids, but no paintbrushes are allowed!

Stitch Clique
Grab your crocheting/knitting needles and yarn and stitch the evening away. Join us the second Tuesday of each month for crocheting/knitting tips, friendship, advice and more. Refreshments will be served. Tuesday, April 11, 6-8 p.m.

Cookies and Conversation
The second Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m., meet to talk about what’s going on your life, school, town or the world. We’ll discuss philosophy, current events or whatever is on the group’s mind. And don’t forget we’ll have cookies! Wednesday, April 12 at 3:30 p.m.

Socrates Café
Interested in candid, thought-provoking conversation? Join your fellow patrons at the Socrates Café, an informal adult discussion that takes place each month here at the library. The Cafe opens on Wednesday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m. 16 & over, please.

Coffee & Conversation Book Discussion
Join us for some great conversation with your fellow Nordonia Hills readers! Our afternoon book discussion group meets the second Thursday of each month. Our next discussion is Thursday, April 13 at 2 p.m. We will discuss The Book of Lost Fragrances, by M. J. Rose.

Everything I Know I Learned in The Twilight Zone
A one-act presentation featuring Mark Dawidziak and Sara Showman of the Largely Literary Theater Company. Based on Dawidziak’s recently published book of the same title, this is a tribute to the enduring storytelling power of The Twilight Zone, featuring life lessons drawn from classic episodes of Rod Serling’s beloved anthology series. The performance will be followed by a Q&A session and book signing. Registration is suggested. Refreshments will be served. Thursday, April 13, at 7 p.m.

No registration is required; however, you must have a ticket to be admitted to each hands-on class. Class size is strictly limited to 15 participants. Tickets will be passed out ½ hour prior to each class time.
