Nordonia Knights Varsity stole the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory over Cuyahoga Falls on Wednesday. The game was tied at two with Nordonia Knights Varsity batting in the bottom of the sixth when Grace Barth’s sac fly scored one run for Nordonia Knights Varsity.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Rachel Cornett struck out four, while Rogers sat down three. Nordonia Knights Varsity took an early lead in the first inning. Hannah Ours drove in one when she singled. Cornett was on the mound for Nordonia Knights Varsity. She went seven innings, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out four. Rogers led things off on the hill for Cuyahoga Falls. She lasted six innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out three. Ours led Nordonia Knights Varsity with two hits in two at bats. Nordonia Knights Varsity didn’t commit a single error in the field. Barth had nine chances in the field, the most on the team. Hanchin went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Cuyahoga Falls in hits.
