Harold Jason Walters, Service/Building Department Superintendent Department of Public Service  report – August 23, 2017

1.  Fire Hydrant restoration – Is complete.  All hydrants that were in need of sandblasting were completed, primed and painted.  All Village hydrants were painted.
2.  Flag Pole – New flag poles were installed at both Ledge Rd & Houghton Rd Service Buildings.
3.  Lawn Maintenance – As I have reported last month our crews were maintaining 32 vacant properties being maintained in house and are now at 36.  
4.  Pot Holes – Any major concerns needing addressed please contact me.  
5.  Sewer Maintenance – Since the July meeting, sewer concerns with residential properties have increased and we have addressed these concerns with our residents.
6.  Magnolia Curb Project –   Contractor has fertilized and will begin a re-seed over the next couple weeks.
7.  Ledge Rd middle lane stop bar –  The stop bar was moved back and seems to have addressed the concerns.
8.  Point of Sale Inspections –   To date we have completed 54 point of sale inspections on residential properties.  Of those 54 properties, 34 have been sold thus far.
9.  Property Violations –   We currently have 35 property violations pending.
10.  Presidential Rd. Project – Started Monday, August 14th.  The gutter lane grinding went well, curbing replacement has been marked.  The storm system on Kennedy Blvd. Started Monday, August 21st.  As of today we are set to begin the paving process on September 5th as long as the project stays on schedule.
11.  Road Crack Fill Program – Our crews will begin crack filling the week of September 5th. Thank you, Harold J. Walters
