Obituary: DOMINIC RECHICHI

DOMINIC RECHICHI age 68. Surrounded by his loving children, Jennifer Ann and Dominic Jr., and close friends, Dominic Joseph Rechichi, Sr. “Big Dom” 68, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, joined his mother, Anna Salenitro Rechichi and father, Thomas Rechichi, on November 8, 2017 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Dominic possessed an abundance of love for everyone — true generosity, sensitivity and sacrifice. Dominic held on to a promise to bring as much happiness and surprises to his family and everyone whose life he touched. He easily inspired energy and humorous challenges, he was our joy, hero and counselor who taught us courage — he was exceptionally imaginative, thoughtful, perceptive and street smart. He was extremely devoted to his children and their families, daughter Jennifer (Mike) Rechichi-Mathews, son Dominic Jr. (Andrea), grandchildren William and Maci. He is also survived by his sisters Frances Simione, Anna Marie Rechichi (Charlene Kazmierski), Pauline Rechichi, Leona Grau (Frank), and countless loving extended family members and friends. Dominic was a loving father, uncle, grandfather, brother, and friend to all and was widely respected and loved throughout the community. Dominic loved to exercise and ran daily (in his famed hooded sweatshirt). He was a proud father of two Florida State University graduates and through this association he became a scholarship (Golden Chief) booster to the University providing numerous academic and athletic opportunities to student athletes through his contributions. Dominic enjoyed time at the beach with his family and attending sporting events throughout the country with his children. He traveled the world during his lifetime touching many lives along the way. Dominic focused on preparedness, always ahead in thought and deed and never skipped a beat. He possessed a remarkable memory, was first to respond and never left anyone behind. He helped change persons lives that will extend beyond years and imagination. Dominic was honorable, passionate and proud of his Italian heritage. A special thanks to the Oncology and Hematology team at the Cleveland Clinic Florida, specifically Dr. Chakra Chaulagain and Jill Rouleau for their compassionate care throughout his illness. The family would like to acknowledge Mikey Maltese, David Fellerman, and Dayan Salazar for their tireless devotion and love for Dominic.  Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 W. AURORA RD. (OH RTE 82), SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 15TH 4-8 P.M.
