Obituary: Julius G. Mihaly

Julius G. Mihaly, 93, born April 15, 1924, passed away November 12, 2017 of natural causes. He served in the US Army from 1942 – 1949 in the 82nd Airborne Division in the 505 and the 508 PIRS (Paratroop Infantry Regiment). He was the recipient of the following medals: Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal,   European  African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal w/ 4 Bronze Stars, World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan.  After his discharge, he worked for the Newburgh and South Shore Railway Company and for the US Steel Company.He was a resident of Sagamore Hills for 50 years.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed working in his yard.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Dorothy (nee Adams).  Dearest uncle of Elaine Csoltko Sheridan, Edward Richard Csoltko (Jean), great-nephew Edward J. Csoltko (Lisa), great-great nephews Mark and Daniel, and great-great niece Nicole.  A private family burial was held on November 20, 2017 at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.  Funeral arrangements were made by Johnson-Romito Funeral Home, Northfield Center, Ohio.  www.johnson-romito.com
