Obituary: Maria O. Andrade

Macedonia…Maria O. Andrade, 64, passed away peacefully on the evening of August 31, 2017 surrounded by family and friends.

Maria was born on November 28, 1952 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Vasco and Estela (Canuto) Rodrigues. She was a 1970 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and worked as an Executive Assistant at IBM for 40 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Macedonia where she was as active parishioner serving as a Lector. 

Maria loved children and enjoyed traveling to various schools to read and interact with the students. She was a strong advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness and was an Ambassador for the Susan G. Komen organization, volunteering and participating in the 3-Day Walk for the Cure.

Above all Maria loved to entertain and host parties for her family and friends. She enjoyed music, dancing and always had a song in her heart.

Maria will be deeply missed by her mother, Estela; her daughter, Lena Andrade of Boston; her son, John Andrade of Santa Monica; her siblings, Nelson, Vasco, Jr., Antonio (Karen), Gina (Jim), and Jorge; her aunts, Alina Canuto and Maria Rodrigues; as well as her nieces, nephews and many, many friends and family.

 She was preceded in death by her father Vasco and her Uncle, Fidelio L. Rodrigues.

 The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Monday, September 4th, from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home located at 216 Coitsville Rd., Campbell, OH 44405.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Angela Merici Parish, with Rev. Kevin Peters officiating.
