Obituary: Robert Michael

Robert Michael, 60, was taken from us far too soon and unexpectedly on Saturday October 6, 2018.  Robert was an amazingly involved and loving father and husband, and a beloved teacher and coach at Newbury High School.  He loved hiking, birding, running, traveling, bicycling, and sharing his hobbies with his family.  His favorite things in life were his family, his school, jeeps, model airplanes, history, and black cats.  He is forever loved by his wife and children and will be missed immensely.

Born in Austin, TX to Leora Michael (Craft) and Franklin Michael, he later attended Rootstown High School and Kent State University.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Anita Michael; children, Nathan and Taylor Michael; brother and sisters, James Michael, Renee Corl, and Sue Olson; and other extended family.

To honor and remember the passion and legacy of this dedicated government and history teacher, we please ask you to vote.  A celebration of his life will be held on Monday October 15, 2018 at Hudson Springs Park May Pavilion located at 7095 Stow Road, Hudson, OH  44236 between 3-6 pm, with testimonials to Robert beginning at 5:30 pm.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Newbury Teachers Memorial Scholarship Fund.  For the scholarship fund, checks should be made out to Newbury Local School with the scholarship fund written in the memo field.  You can also donate to the Sierra Club: In Memorium of Robert Michael at https://www.teamsierra.org/memorial/RobertMichael
