Sagamore Hills women safely rescued after ATV plunges off cliff

There was an incident late Saturday night on Canyon View Rd. in Sagamore Hills (behind Greenwood Village). A man and a woman were riding an ATV on a path, when suddenly the ATV and the woman went over a cliff. The woman fell 20 feet onto a ledge. The call came in around midnight and Kris Longo, Tim Black, Jeff Hall, Brian Janusek and Macedonia A Shift were all part of the team with the Twinsburg Fire Department, that performed a rope rescue to retrieve the woman. The woman (a Sagamore Hills resident) was treated for an arm injury and transported to Hillcrest hospital. The man was not injured.

It is not known if the man and the woman were aware of the cliff. The ATV had a headlight that was in working order.
