Someone like me can have an idea, but it takes a team of people to make it a reality

By Julie D’Aloiso

Last summer I was running NEO Community Radio with help from Gary Miller, Jim Davison and more. At times we would report on local news. But I wanted to do more. So I wanted to create an online community. A place where people can go on their computer, phone, and even their watch to see what is happening. One year later I am very proud of what we have done and have exciting plans for the future.

In case you don’t know we pull info from:

  • vicMacedonia, Sagamore Hills, Northfield Center, Northfield Village and Boston Heights
  • The Nordonia Hills Chamber of Commerce
  • The Nordonia Hills City School District
  • Police and Fire Departments
  • Local organizations and non-profits
  • New businesses and business events
  • and so much more!

We have a website, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and even a Facebook group where you can vent about crazy drivers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1135448659876134/

We are starting a social media club at the High School where students can get real world experience doing stories via written word, pictures and video.

We are working on a local movie that will be produced here Summer of 2017. More info will coming out very soon.

Speaking of video, we are in the process of setting up a location where we can shoot video too. Check out our video section on our Facebook page for a taste of a LIVE Facebook event we had last week. This is just the beginning of what we will be doing with video.

Someone like me can have an idea, but it takes a team of people to make it a reality:
Gary Miller -shoots a lot of our videos (with his drone too).
Victor Milani – I reached out to him last summer, and had indicated if he was not mayor, he would be a big help. Look at all of the articles (228 to be exact) he has written since then: https://nordoniahills.news/category/victors-corner/
Not to mention the pictures he and his son Sammy Milani has taken! Vic started with us November 11 of last year and we would not be where we are without him.

DSC_0925We have: Writers: Felicia Naoum, Sue Govern, Maria D’Aloiso, JC Sullivan, and many more. They give their own perspective on topics and events. And photographers like Daryl Pace from Daryl Pace Photography  are starting to work with us more. Tim Davison records the audio for our upcoming events.

We have wonderful sponsors! Scroll around on the website and/or on our social media and you will see them. This helps us stay afloat! And if we can get more sponsors we can do even more (hint hint contact me for more info on advertising).

But the one part to all of this that makes it all worthwhile is you the reader! We do this for you! You want to know what is going on and you need to know now!

As I write this we are very close to 2000 likes on Facebook. Our monthly reach on Facebook has been 100,000 (yes you read that right one hundred thousand). To us we pay more attention to how many people we reach. But likes are very important too. If you like the page you have a better chance of seeing our content. Make sure, when you like the Facebook page, you say you want to want to see all notifications from the page. Liking, commenting as sharing will also tell Facebook that you want to see more of our content.

The success of NordoniaHills.news includes: people behind the scenes, sponsors and readers! Remember to send us your pictures, news and events. We are connecting the local communities – thank you for being a part of it!

Watch us weather the storm at fun fest this year!
