PRESS RELEASE: Body Discovered in Akron
On December 3, 2018, Summit County Sheriff’s deputies located a dead body in an outdoor area at the Bridges Learning Center on Jonathan Avenue in Akron. The Sheriff’s Detective Bureau responded to the scene. Through evidence collected at the scene, it appears that the victim had committed suicide approximately two days prior. The school was placed on lockdown for a brief period while evidence was being processed by investigators. At no time were students or teachers in any danger. No additional information is being released about the victim pending the outcome of the investigation.
