Three Nordonia Knights Pitchers Combine In Shutout Victory Against Firestone

Nordonia Knights defeated Firestone 3-0 on Thursday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Ryan Short induced a fly out from #14 to finish off the game.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Nordonia Knights pitchers struck out five, while Firestone pitchers sat down two.

Nordonia Knights got on the board in the first inning when Aidan McFerren drew a walk, scoring one run.

A double by #3 in the second inning was a positive for Firestone.
Vince Varner earned the victory on the hill for Nordonia Knights. He surrendered zero runs on three hits over four innings, striking out three and walking zero. Kyle Chonko and Short entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Short recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Nordonia Knights.

#1 took the loss for Firestone. He allowed five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out two.

McFerren went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Nordonia Knights in hits.
Firestone was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. #3 had the most chances in the field with three.
