Out of respect for our fallen Heroes, the Northfield Center VFW Post 6768 is requesting that no one throw candy during the Memorial Day Parade, and that no fliers or brochures, including political, be distributed at the Parade.
There were 12 spectator injuries last year, including an eye injury to an elderly woman due to candy thrown from pickup trucks in the Parade.
There were also water bottles thrown hard after the candy ran out.
