After finding out on election night, he won by only 3 votes, incumbent Northfield Center Trustee Paul Buescher had to wait until Tuesday to find out if he indeed was the winner. On Nov. 28, the Summit County Board of Elections announced the official tally of the Nov. 7th election. When all the votes were tabulated, the official results were: Russ Mazzola 821 votes, Paul Buescher 728, and Marc Prepara 721. Mazzola and Buescher now join Rich Reville as the three Northfield Center Trustees. The initial vote on election night, had Buescher beating Prepara by only 3 votes, 718-715. John Romanik finished fourth. There will be an automatic recount on Dec 5th. But Summit County Board of Elections officials think the official tally won’t change.
Buescher has had preliminary talks with Mazzola to move Northfield Center forward, and work in unison with Rich Reville on many issues facing Northfield Center, such as the Spitzer property zoning issues, and stormwater (flooding) concerns.
