The Macedonia Fire Department, along with other departments from Stow, Twinsburg, Cuyahoga Falls, Green, Coventry, made a dramatic rescue to a dog that scaled down down a 60 foot ravine. The incident happened on Rt.82 near Chaffee Rd, when two people walking the dog, became separated from the dog, who had found his way down a steep cliff on the side a ravine.

The Macedonia Fire Department was toned about 2:30 Saturday afternoon to attempt the rescue. With the aide of several other department, the fireman scaled down the surface that was shale encrusted, and unsteady. When finally arriving upon the dog, a harness was attached to the dog, who was then pulled to safety. The Sagamore Hills residents that owned the dog were grateful and relieved  to get their family pet back to safety. Congratulations to the Macedonia Fire Department members as well as all the Fireman who performed  the 2 ½ hour rescue. I’m sure mans best friend is appreciative as well!
