The usual back to school first-day jitters was somewhat compounded by numerous questions concerning the Lee Eaton/Ledge Road issue. According to Northfield Village Police Chief John Zolgus, the opening of the school year went off without a hitch. With the aide of traffic control by the Northfield Police, traffic by bus and vehicles in and out of Lee Eaton dropping off and picking us students went as smoothly as could be expected, due to it being the first day. Ledge Road was open to Lee Eaton traffic all day, with limited access for the general public. Lifting concrete on the Macedonia side/border prevented an all-access road opening to all traffic, which may occur as soon as late next week.
