City of Macedonia Council , along with Mayor Joe Migliorini, convened Thursday February 22. Here are a few of the items that were covered. Police officer Christian Costello was promoted to the rank of sergeant. Five part time firefighters were added to the force. The men and women’s locker rooms at the recreation center will be refurbished. Patience is asked while construction (late March-July) is underway. The funds from the .25% income tax on the May 8th ballot will go to safety forces, 911 upgrades and communications. The 1 mil fire levy would be removed at the end of its time period if this levy is passed. Mayor Joe Migliorini commented on Macedonia losing on an average of $630,000 for the past six years from the local government fund, along with losing funds from inheritance taxes. Thirty one streets will be repaved this year. The cost for a new aerial truck would be $1.1 million to replace the current vehicle. Council would like residents to contact them, dial 911, the police or service department to notify them on major potholes or road dis-repairs. They prefer residents not go through social media to contact the city.
Here are some pictures from the five new part time firefighters and also see below for the entire video of the meeting.
