Macedonia Policeman and Nordonia High School SRO Officer Glen Nicholl addressed Mrs. McClelland’s 11th grade Honors Government Class Thursday. The theme was “Ask a Policeman Anything”. Officer Nicholl spoke on many topics, and took several questions from the inquiring students. The class asked about the amount of calls (80-90) the Macedonia Police respond to daily. Some students asked how they could become a policeman, while others wanted to know how search/arrest warrants were administered. The class asked how drug searches were carried out, as well as policies involving traffic stops. Officer Nicholl explained that Blue Lives Matter as well as everyone else, but the media sometimes doesn’t explain the full story behind many shootings. Nicholl stated that the Police are unfairly painted in a negative fashion. The students are very respectful towards Officer Nicholl, and Nordonia should be proud to have him as our SRO Officer. Having children who attended Nordonia, Officer Nicholl can relate to the student body in a manner that he talks to them, and not at them. It was a very eventful hour.
