Nordonia Knight star wrestler Anthony Perrine punched his ticket to the Ohio High School State Wrestling finals in Columbus by placing first in the 195 lb weight division at N. Canton Hoover this weekend. In a physical match, he defeated Naples from Brunswick in the finals. Tommy Masteller gave his all, and nearly went to Columbus. He won his first match, and then lost to the eventual champion. He then won his next three matches before losing in semi consolation round, finishing sixth. Jimmy Brenneman competed, but lost his first two matches to be eliminated. All three represented Nordonia well, and should be complimented. Good luck to Senior Anthony Perrine in his quest for the 195 lb title in Columbus!
As noted in a recent Cleveland.com article: “Perrine survived a physical 195-pound title bout with Brunswick’s Aaron Naples, winning 6-2 and jumping into the stands afterward to celebrate with his supporters. A running back during the football season, Perrine jogged off the floor and ran laps as the feat sank in.”
