At the regular Wednesday night Northfield Council meeting, there was good news on the Ledge Road development. It is now projected to be completed at the end of August, nearly two months ahead of schedule. Village Engineer Rich Wasosky reported that the right side of Ledge Rd. (Northfield part) is completed with paving with curbs and apron installation to follow. The left side (Macedonia) will then be completed. Four garbage firms have bids into Northfield for consideration for the rubbish contract. They include Rumpke, Republic, Waste Management and Kimble. Council will consider the bids at an upcoming work session before making a decision. Councilor Keith Czerr ended the meeting by “talking trash”… He is upset that Northfield, in his opinion, has an abundance of trash strewn around town, mostly by Hard Rock car patrons throwing their rubbish out into the streets as they leave. Mayor Nehez disputed the claim, and prefers Czerr to contact him, or the service department with future rubbish concerns.
