Summit County Executive Ilene Shaprio, Macedonia Mayor Joe Milgiorini and Northfield Village Mayor Jesse Nehez hosted a networking event,”Open For Business”. The 2 hour meeting highlighted many positives and agencies in Summit County that can help small business owners to be successful by locating in Summit County. Nordonia Hills was well represented at this meeting, with Northfield Center Trustee Rich Reville, Sagamore Hills Trustee Dave DePasquale, and Macedonia Councilor Kevin Bilkie adding their insights why this region in particular is a a wise choice to locate a business. Many Summit County job agencies were represented such as the Summit County Land Bank, Akron Score, Conxus, and The Women’s Business Center of Northern Ohio to name just a few. Nordonia Hills Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Laura Sparano provided a myriad of information and resources that the Chamber has available for local business owners. The meeting provided an opportunity for all who attended a forum to brainstorm, as well as network with other towns, business’s, and agencies. The City of Macedonia’s Executive Asst. to the Mayor Diana Augustine should be commended for her assistance in the seminar as well.
