Nearly two weeks after being reported, the water main break on N. Plaza Drive in back of the Northfield Village Hall, has been repaired (somewhat). Following a story yesterday I filed in Nordonia Hills.News (see it here), and a call from Mayor Nehez threatening to have channel 5 come out to report the Cleveland Water Department’s lack of response, the Cleveland Water Department appeared and fixed the break. Was it the story, or the Mayor’s threat that prompted results, you be the judge. All that matters I surmise is that the N.Plaza ravine is now dry again. The road patching will have to wait until Northfield Village has time next week .The Cleveland Water Department just back fills their repairs. The Village usually has to smooth and pave it.
Hydrant update: the fire hydrant in the background has been out of service now for over six months. One would have thought the Cleveland Water Department would have repaired it while being mere feet away. Instead they repaired a hydrant ½ mile down the same road instead. Rumor has it that channel 5 might be paying Northfield Village a visit soon to see the fine work (or lack of) from the Cleveland Water Department. Stay tuned.
