The accomplishments and memories for the 12U Nordonia Knights travel baseball team continue to pile up. On June 19th, the Knights added State Champions to the list as they defeated NMC Baseball 15-4.
Nordonia competed in the three-day Nations Baseball State Championship tournament in Jackson Township June 17-19. In total, they played 6 games including three on Saturday. After pool play, the Knights were a number two seed for bracket play and earned a first round bye.
During the three-day event, the Knights played some of their best baseball this season. Strong pitching performances came from Steven Fakult, Collin Atha, Kyle Nealon, Louie Papile and Jo Jo Gaudio. On offence, home runs from Collin Atha, Karsen Fisher and Kyle Nealon helped propel the Knights through the tournament.
The Knights also won Championships in the Diamonds for Mom tournament in May and the Nordonia Bash in June. They are 35-5-1 on the season so far.
Nordonia will compete in the Northeast Ohio Baseball League tournament on June 26-27. They will end their season in Aberdeen, Maryland in July where they will compete in The Ripken Experience.
