On August 13, 2018, Douglas W. Kinnell returned home to his Heavenly Father. Douglas was born in Cass City, Michigan on November 7, 1941 to William and Beulah Kinnell (nee Wilson). Raised in Ohio along with his brother, Herbert, Douglas graduated from Bedford Hight School and not long after, enlisted in the United States Navy. A Veteran of two tours in Vietnam, Douglas was a proud Seabee who stayed active and remained in touch with his brothers in Arms. Married in 1968 to Patricia A. Kinnell (nee DeFrange), they remained married for 50 years before his passing. In addition to being a loving and devoted husband, Douglas was a dedicated and proud father to two wonderful boys, Sean and Eric, and daughter-in-law, Joanna (nee Drozd). Though Douglas spend over 30 years employed as a truck driver, he enjoyed traveling with his wife to all 50 states. He enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of all things Cleveland. He especially enjoyed watching, and going to, NASCAR races with his brother and sons. Amongst his finest qualities was Douglas’s honesty and integrity. He was selfless and generous, donating to dozens of charities though out the years. He was especially fond of charities that helped his fellow veterans. Survived by Herbert (brother) and his wife Karen (nee Etchell) and Michael DeFrange (brother-in-law) and his wife Deborah DeFrange (nee Squires). Uncle to Kimberly, David, and Christopher.
