City of Macedonia Police Reports 6/07/18 – 7/16/18

Editor’s Note: These reports are the latest sampling of the Macedonia police reports, with some dating back to at least 6/7/18.

Several shoplifting reports were reported at Walmart and one at Home Depot.

REPORT OF A FIRE AT KNIGHTS INN
On 7/16 at 2018 hours, police responded to the Knights Inn for a report of a smoke alarm that had gone off inside one of the rooms. Upon arrival, the police officer reported that the room was clear, with no signs of fire. He stated that the occupant of the room had just been smoking. Upon further inspection, numerous items of contraband were found. One occupant of the room was charged with possession of a controlled substance(F-5) and two counts of drug paraphernalia (M-4). The other occupant was charged with two counts of drug paraphernalia (M-4).


PURSE FOUND WITH MARIJUANA
On 7/11 at 1400 am, a police officer on a traffic detail when he was approached by a FedEx driver who stated that he had found a purse a week prior.

The driver handed in a small gray purse and stated that he had found in the parking lot of Autozone, 1071 E. Aurora Road, on the afternoon of Friday 7-6-18. According to the driver, the purse was laying on in the middle of the parking lot.

While searching through the purse, a drivers license was found as well as less than 1 gram of marijuana. The sister of the purse owner was located and was instructed to have her sister contact Macedonia police.


DOG FOUND
On 7-10 a police officer was dispatched to a resident on Sherwood Drive. The person who found the dog in her yard and was able to get the dog inside her vehicle. The police officer recognized the “dog at large” call in May in which the owner had been served a citation for Animal at Large. They were able to find the dog owner’s son and return the dog to him. The owner was once again served with a citation for Animal at Large.
