Joseph Nelson Morell, Jr., was born on March 18, 1927 in Buffalo, NY. Son of Joseph and Loretta Morell. Joseph’s family name was changed during The Depression from Mauriello to Morell. Joseph attended high school at East Tech in Cleveland and served in the Army during World War II, mostly stationed in Egypt and Germany. Joseph married Angela Vito after the War on October 2, 1948. He met Angela at a roller rink in 1943 before Joseph went to the War and they kept in contact while he served. After military service, he worked at DuPont as a Quality Assurance Chemist for 33 years in its Cleveland Plant. Joseph retired in 1985. Joseph and Angela purchased a time-share condo on Siesta Key in Florida just prior to retirement. They travelled there in the Spring almost every year. Family and friends would visit with them at the condo. Angela and Joseph loved going to Siesta Key. Joseph loved to go fishing and took many trips with his sons and friends. Joe also golfed for many years. Joseph and Angela enjoyed travelling and vising family during his retirement. Joseph and Angela had a wonderful marriage and celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary in a “Little Italy” restaurant in 2018 filled with family and friends. For the past 32 years, they resided in Broadview Heights along Chippewa Creek flowing adjacent to their home. They lived on their own all their life. Angela will be 94 this Fall. Joseph passed peacefully sitting in his favorite spot on the sofa in the arms of his love Angela and with his family by his side.
