Question: What if I lose my hearing aid?
Answer: A patient came in wondering what he would do if he lost his hearing aid. This is a common concern for most as they want to protect the investment they have made in their hearing health. He continued stating that his concern was raised after he lost his hearing aid while adjusting his mask at the grocery store. He was one of the lucky ones and drove back to the grocery store parking lot where he found his hearing aid in perfect condition. What would he do if he were not so lucky? First, some hearing aids have a find my hearing aid feature within the smart phone app.
If you do not have access to this feature, you are not out of options. A loss and damage policy is included with the purchase of all new hearing aids. He would be able to pay a deductible to use his loss and damage policy and have the device replaced completely! The length of the policy and cost of the deductible can vary. Like many patients, he found this information very reassuring!
