Nordonia Hills City Schools Names New Treasurer

Matthew Brown will begin his three-year contract on August 1

The Nordonia Hills City School District Board of Education has hired Matthew Brown as the district’s new Treasurer/CFO. The Board voted unanimously to hire Mr. Brown during a special Board meeting this evening. Brown is the current Treasurer/CFO of Euclid City Schools in Euclid, Ohio. 

The Board is very excited to hire Mr. Brown as the next Treasurer of the Nordonia Hills City School District,” said Nordonia Board President Chad Lahrmer. “Mr. Brown will be a fantastic addition to our administrative team and will continue the legacy of excellence in our Treasurer Department. I look forward to working with him.”

It is a great privilege and honor to be given this responsibility, ” said Matthew Brown, incoming Nordonia Treasurer. “ I look forward to working with the Board of Education and District Staff and continuing the tradition of fiscal responsibility and accountability.”

Mr. Brown has been the Euclid City Schools Treasurer/CFO since August 2019. Prior to that time, he was the Assistant Treasurer in Euclid from January 2016. Before entering public education, Mr. Brown worked for a private accounting firm. 

Mr. Brown will be given a three-year contract and will begin his position at Nordonia on August 1. He also will be given several days in July to work with the retiring Treasurer/CFO, Karen Obratil, to make for a seamless transition.
