In a newsletter emailed to Nordonia parents Casey G. Wright announced that after having fulfilled fifteen years of commitment as the Nordonia High School Principal, he has accepted the Director of Business at Nordonia City Schools position. He stated, “Saying goodbye is never easy. Over the past fifteen years, I have been humbled by how the Nordonia community has embraced me as a leader, and I am so grateful for the people and ideas you have entrusted in my care. Nordonia High School is set up to continue to achieve great things now and in the future. Being your Principal will likely be the proudest experience of my life.”
Mrs. Louise Teringo, a native Clevelander, will serve as the interim principal at Nordonia High School for the 2022-23 school year. Mrs. Teringo retired as principal of Twinsburg High School in 2018, and has served our Nordonia community as interim principal of Lee Eaton Elementary School, as well as Bedford High School, and Charles F. Brush High School. Even though she retired in 2018, she felt herself pulled towards the Solon classroom setting last year, where she taught Spanish part-time. She had experience as a full-time Spanish teacher for South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools, where she began her teaching career. She has remained in leadership roles at Ledgeview and Lee Eaton Schools while she was retired and has said, “the decision to become principal at Nordonia High School was easy- thanks to the familiarity and support of the amazing staff.”
Principal Teringo quickly moved into the world of Administration, and served during times of heightened national safety and security in schools; such as Columbine, Sandy Hook, and Chardon High School-shootings. Her leadership approach will enable the teaching staff to continue to work collaboratively together. Her authoritative approach will provide reliability addressing students’ misconduct, in a progressive way. She wants students to know that they should speak up when they see or hear something that sounds peculiar/suspicious, and report it anonymously. A Student Safety Contacts- an information sheet for well-being and safety, has been made available for students and their families, as they navigate through this school year.
Speaking of families, Louise likes to talk about her husband Steve; who is also a retired educator, having taught in the business department at Bedford High School, and served as their football coach for over thirty years. Steve coaches football at Kenston High School currently. Their four daughters have grown up and ventured into careers.
Without a doubt, Louise Teringo has made a difference in her students’ lives over the years, while serving as an administrator/educator. A big reason she loves what she does is seeing the students, some of which have struggled, come back and visit her; to see them grown up, successful, and introduce their children to her, and thank her for the unwavering support she gave.
What Louise Teringo wants the Nordonia community to know about her:
“I take myself lightly-but my job seriously. I am committed to continuing the excellent programming already established through the years at Nordonia High School. I am excited to be a part of the NHS family. The staff has been so helpful in guiding me through the KNIGHTS way!! I am looking forward to working with our parents and students to assist them in being the best that they can be in anything that they set out to accomplish.”
