The Northfield Village skatepark project is still in its infancy. That being said, the characteristics of our skatepark will emerge over time. However this would be a great time to go over the goals of this project.
1)Encourage the local youth to get outside and ride/skate.
2) Open up our village to the surrounding extreme sports community
3) Add character and Inspire culture in our village
There are many more nuanced goals that I could get into. But these are the three major ones as of right now.
Lastly, the location of the skate park has been a big question in these posts. In my interactions with the city council as of recently, the idea of putting the skatepark next to the police station has caught some momentum. I am impartial to this idea. But I do know many skate parks in Northeast Ohio are right next to or directly down the street from their police stations. It is not a final decision. And I’m just curious what everyone thinks about that?
