Nordonia Knights senior Asher Wilson lets us in with the exciting news of his upcoming season as he has made his commitment to the United States Air Force Academy to play football next fall.
As we began to speak with Asher, we learned that he started his football career in sixth grade but gained a passion for the game his freshman year. While he moved to Nordonia his junior year, there was no hiding the enthusiasm he brought to the field. Asher shared that he wanted to continue his love for football into his college career; being more than just excited to accept his offer from the Air Force to play football. Replying with, “I was actually at work when I had received the call and I went into the office. It was an overall amazing feeling.” Watching the already huge smile on his face grow more as he shared the amazing news, we could not be more than overjoyed for Asher’s amazing accomplishments.
Resulting in us asking Asher who had helped him along his football journey, answering with his parents being the biggest influence as they have been truthful and supportive with him. Along with his coaches from West Jefferson and Nordonia who pushed him to be the best version of himself everyday. Showing the truth that it takes a village to become who you are. Asher had also shared with us his favorite piece of advice he had received, “Trust the process; everybody’s journey is different and always trust that you are doing the right thing.” We loved those astounding words of encouragement and hope they reach everyone who wants to start their journey no matter where they are and believe in what they can become just like Asher.
