The Ice Hockey Knights are looking to have a strong finish before the Christmas Holiday. The Knights have been on a roll and are looking to continue their momentum.
On Wednesday December 20, 2023, the Knights went up against Twinsburg High School where they defeated them by a final score of 5-0.
Noah Vega had a hat trick in this game against Twinsburg, while Jack Henderson and Owen Tindall each had one score.
Goalie Preston Kanar had 13 saves in this game and was also a big reason for the shutout.
Assists in this game were spread out within the team. George Henderson had two assists, while Noah Vega, Collin Schleman, Jacob Waite, and Garrett Blaze each had one save against Twinsburg.
Head Coach Rich Cinalli has had full faith in his team since the beginning of the season.
“This week has been important for our team”, said Head Coach Rich Cinalli.
“These matchups against Twinsburg are important as this is giving us a chance to stay with them within the Blue South Division. We play them again this Friday, so if we continue to play as a team, we will give Twinsburg a run for their money. I am excited to see this team continue to grow, and I have full faith in this team”.
This Friday night, December 22, 2023, (Today), the Knights will play Twinsburg High School again. After just grabbing a win against them earlier this week, the Ice Hockey Knights look to grab their second win against Twinsburg. This would be back-to-back wins against Twinsburg.
The Knights will be off next week as it will be the Christmas holiday for the Knights as there will be no regular season games until the following week.
Head Coach Rich Cinalli did say that even though the team is off next week, there will be an alumni game.
The alumni game will be Tuesday December 26, 2023, at 7:00p.m. where any alumni of Nordonia High School can participate. Coach Cinalli says anyone who wants to play in the alumni game can RSVP to him by either text, call, or email.
The Ice Hockey Knights will resume their 2023-2024 season on January 5, 2024.
This has been an exciting season for the Ice Hockey Knights so far as they have been winning many games and are competing well in the Blue South Division.
It will be interesting to see where the second half of the season takes the Knights as they continue to play as a team and to take it one game at a time.
