Trinity Rose Foundation Plans Festival and Golf Outing to Support Visually Impaired Children
Medina nonprofit announces two major fundraising events for summer and fall
The Trinity Rose Foundation has announced its event schedule featuring two community fundraisers to support visually impaired children and their families in northeast Ohio.
The Medina-based nonprofit will host its second annual Trinity Rose Festival on Friday, June 27 from 5 to 10 p.m. at The Common Ground Warehouse in Medina. The event is presented by Huntington National Bank.
The festival will feature live music from Simply the Best, an 1980s tribute band, and RJ Chandler & The Roadhouse Band. Food will be provided by Dilly’s Cantina and Big Dog Daddy’s LLC.
“The Festival is an extraordinary celebration of food, music, and community where friends and families come together to celebrate and support a great cause,” said Stacy Bonitz, Vice President of the Trinity Rose Foundation.
All sponsorships, tickets, sales and raffle proceeds will benefit children with vision impairment. During an intermission ceremony, the foundation will recognize children and families it supports this year. Recipients include 2-year-old Lillian Anzevino of Medina, who is undergoing surgeries for congenital cataracts, glaucoma, and hyperopia. Sisters Helda, 15, and Yohely, 13, Matzir-Ramos of Akron recently immigrated from Guatemala and will receive adaptive technology for school to help with Coloboma and vision/hearing impairments.
The foundation is also funding a MIRA Foundation service dog in memory of Jennifer Kasunick, one of the first Trinity Rose recipients who died in January. Brooklyn Gaskins, 17, of Canal Fulton will receive a new iPhone to support her independence and education as she lives with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia and Septo-Optic Dysplasia.
The 18th Annual Trinity Rose Golf Outing returns Monday, September 22 at Shale Creek Golf Club in Medina. Amy Hoes and the Showcase Home Group team are sponsoring the event, which includes 18 holes with cart, boxed lunch, beer on the course, dinner and raffle.
“It’s an amazing way to give back while enjoying the game,” said Rich Bonitz, Foundation President.
The Trinity Rose Foundation dedicates over 90% of donations to providing financial aid for families, funding medical research for childhood eye disorders, and offering educational resources.
