The Nordonia Knights volleyball team continued their dominant season Thursday night, defeating the Twinsburg Tigers 3-0 to extend their winning streak to seven games and maintain their perfect 7-0 record.
Despite the sweep, each set proved to be a battle, with all three decided by three points or fewer. The Knights prevailed 25-23, 25-23, 26-24 in what became a showcase of competitive volleyball.
Avery Palinkas led the defensive effort with three digs and contributed two aces from the service line. Aleah Sopata matched Palinkas’ serving performance with two aces while anchoring the back row with six digs – her best ace output since October 2024.
Maddy Bollas added to the Knights’ defensive presence, recording her first block of the season at a crucial moment.
The Knights dominated from the service line as a team, tallying 14 aces total. This aggressive serving approach has become a trademark for Nordonia, who have now recorded at least five aces in 16 consecutive games dating back to last season.
The loss drops Twinsburg to 3-2 on the season.
Nordonia will look to make it eight straight when they face Chardon at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Twinsburg will try to bounce back against Hathaway Brown at noon Saturday.
