The recent activity primarily involved property crime, traffic safety, and neighborhood disturbances. In Sagamore Hills, officers investigated a theft at a local ski resort and a middle-of-the-night disturbance at a residence, while Northfield Village officers dealt with a driver who lost control of his vehicle and another who was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired.
Sagamore Hills Police Reports
Theft at Brandywine Ski Resort
On January 31, Sagamore Hills officers were dispatched to Brandywine Ski Resort on West Highland Road following a report of stolen property. A visitor reported that his Rossignol twin-tip skis, valued at approximately $400, were taken from the premises. The investigation into the theft is ongoing.
Residential Disturbance
Early in the morning on January 28, police responded to a reported disturbance at a home on Chaffee Road. Officers arrived on the scene around 2:14 a.m. to address the situation involving multiple individuals. The incident was cleared within the hour, though details regarding the nature of the dispute were not immediately released.
Suspicious Vehicle Complaint
On January 27, officers investigated a report of suspicious behavior involving a vehicle on Barton Road. Police made contact with the individuals involved to assess the situation, and the call was logged as a general complaint.
Northfield Village Police Reports
Vehicle Nearly Strikes Building
Northfield Village officers responded to Lincoln Drive on January 28 for a report of a disabled motor vehicle. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle had traveled off the roadway and nearly collided with a nearby building. Following an investigation, the male driver was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control and was subsequently released.
OVI Arrest Following Traffic Stop
A traffic stop for a speeding violation on Ledge Road led to an arrest in the early hours of January 30. After the driver initially failed to stop, officers eventually made contact and observed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and charged with OVI, OVI refusal, and speeding. The individual was released to a sober party pending a court appearance.
