Christopher’s Nordonia Sports Report: Basketball, Hockey and Wrestling

Knight Watch: A weekly Nordonia Sports Roundup written by student reporter Christopher Hovanetz, sharing highlights and updates from across Knight Nation — all year long.

Nordonia Athletics Update
To start us off, Nordonia boys basketball has faced a tough stretch, dropping two games in a row while The knights defeated Brecksville’s 16–0 record and moved them to 16-1. Despite the recent losses and wins, the Knights continue to compete hard and look to finish the season strong against high-level opponents and get into the postseason and make a run for the state title.

Next up, girls basketball wrapped up their season with a loss to Stow-Munroe Falls, finishing the year with a 7–15 record. While the season has come to a close, there is plenty to celebrate, as Hadyn Paul will be continuing her basketball career at the collegiate level, committing to play at John Carroll University. Congratulations to Hadyn on this outstanding achievement.

On the ice, Nordonia hockey experienced a loss to Cleveland Heights but bounced back with a close and hard-fought win against Normandy. The Knights will look to carry that momentum forward as they prepare for an upcoming matchup against Bay.
Finally, Nordonia wrestling remains busy, as both the boys and girls teams will compete in a triple meet against Aurora and Walsh Jesuit. In addition, the girls wrestling team will participate in the Brunswick Invitational, continuing to represent the Knights with strength and determination.

Thank you for tuning in and staying up to date with Nordonia athletics. Your support makes a difference for our student-athletes as they continue to compete with pride. Go Knights!
